PURCHASE TICKETS FOR DA’S SPRING HIGH SCHOOL MUSICALTickets for “Spamalot,” our spring high school musical, are now available for purchase! Multiple performances will be held March 10, 11, and 12. Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail,” this one-act adaptation of Monty Python’s “Spamalot” retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. The outrageous, uproarious, and gloriously entertaining story of King Arthur and the Lady of the Lake will delight casts and audiences as they search for the Holy Grail and “always look on the bright side of life.” Tickets can be purchased here: http://www.datheatre.com/current-production.html. Director's Note: Laughing has a way of making us feel a little lighter. And sometimes, even when we are stressed and going through difficult times, when the world is in turmoil, we all just need a little laughter. A funny musical doesn’t make us forget about these heavy things. But a funny musical can bring together a group of people, even if it is just for an hour and half, and have them experience something light and fun TOGETHER. That is the beautiful power of Theatre. Our students have come together to do something challenging and difficult (all those hours memorizing lines, practicing dances and songs, building the set, creating lighting and sound cues, AND performing a “Broadway musical” in front of a live audience!). They have brought us together today to be in the moment and laugh. And when Patsy tells us to “always look on the bright side of life,” I will remind myself again to cherish this moment we are all experiencing together and to cherish our laughter. This art form, called theatre, brings us all together. The audience, cast, and crew are such an important part of what makes theatre special. So to each and every one of you: I am very grateful and want to express a very warm thank you to our community for your support of Denver Academy Theatre and theatre education. Students: thank you for being part of the process of making theatre, for your hard work, for your bravery, and for your passion. It is a privilege to work with you. Congratulations, cast and crew, on a wonderful show! Thank you to Scott, my parents, family, and friends for your unending support. I love you. Thank you so much for attending Denver Academy’s production of Spamalot. Enjoy the show! -Holly Marks Comments are closed.
