Student Showcase

On Friday, May 1 at 6 p.m., the DA Theatre Company will present a student showcase in DA’s Berke Blackbox Theatre. Students selected their own pieces and are in charge of directing, acting, finding props, building sets, choreography, filming/editing, and all other aspects of the production. Students will perform monologues, songs, scenes, and the Show Choir will perform! This is a great way for students to showcase what they have learned this year and to show off their hard work and amazing talent. Tickets are free, but you need to reserve a seat! Merry Wives of Windsor
Senior Shakespeare!

On Thursday, May 7, at 7 p.m., watch Mr. Umbach’s senior honors class perform Shakespeare’s Merry Wives of Windsor in the Gary Family Theatre.
John Falstaff attempts to woo two married women, Mistress Page and Mistress Ford, to steal their money. The clever wives discover his plan and team up to play a series of humiliating tricks on him, ultimately teaching the boastful knight a lesson. Seniors experience performing Shakespeare in front of an audience! After reading and discussing multiple Shakespeare texts in class earlier in the year, students get to put on a full-blown production! Seniors audition, act, build and paint sets, program lights and sound, design costumes, create props, and play musical instruments for their end-of-year performance. A long-standing tradition filled with lots of fun!
