Congratulations, cast and crew, on an a beautiful production of Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl. Below is my director's note from the show. Check out production photos too! Director's Note: “What if lightness is a philosophical choice to temper reality with strangeness, to temper intellect with emotion, to temper emotion with humour. Lightness is then a philosophical victory over heaviness. A reckoning with the humble and small and invisible.” – Sarah Ruhl
Sarah Ruhl has gifted us with a strange, imperfect play that is light and humorous, and, yet, expresses the essence of our grief, of what it means to remember. This play shows us the beauty and pain of memories and how the language of names and memories make us human. Eurydice also argues that love truly can transcend all obstacles. This art form, called theatre, brings us all together. The audience, cast, and crew are such an important part of what make theatre special. So to each and every one of you: I am very grateful and want to express a very warm thank you to our community for your support of Denver Academy Theatre and theatre education. I thank the students for being part of the process of making theatre, and for your bravery and for your passion. It is a privilege to work with you. Congratulations, cast and crew, on a wonderful show! Comments are closed.
