We attended workshops that included swing dancing, mime and illusion, accents, improv, monologue preparation, playwriting and more! We had 3 acts from DA students that competed against 2000 other students from around the state. Congratulations Jenn and Rachel D. on competing and congratulations to Rachel B. for qualifying to nationals!

I would love to have you audition for our fall play: Eurydice by Sarah Ruhl.

Sarah Ruhl reimagines the classic myth of Orpheus through the eyes of its heroine. Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice must journey to the underworld, where she reunites with her father and struggles to remember her lost love. With contemporary characters, ingenious plot twists, and breathtaking visual effects, the play is a fresh look at a timeless, tragic love story.

I will also be passing out a calendar with rehearsal dates and times at the audition so that students can figure out if they have any conflicts.
Thank you so much! Hope to see you there!
Two of our students were able to attend Berridge Theatre Program this summer! Berridge brings young artists from around the world together with professional actors, directors, producers, choreographers, writers and filmmakers to study the craft of acting and filmmaking in the extraordinary setting of Chateau le Mont Epinguet in Normandy, France.
One student expressed,"It’s an “acting” program but it isn’t. It’s a life program. It’s like
they give you this place that truly radiates love, kindness,
creativity, and family and label it an acting program when really it
should be called. “Berridge the program for wanting to know the
feeling of pure happiness. Oh! And you are amazing at acting and want
to get better? Perfect ...come here!"
I am so glad these students learned so much and that they can bring their new skills back to DA and share what they learned. What an awesome way to spend a summer!
The Lighting Design Class is at it again. Each student designed their own lights and projections to some of their favorite music. This year they even stepped up on their costume design (Rock and Roll Scientists?). Thanks for another great quarter!
We learned and had so much fun this year at Thescon! We saw the productions of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Harvey. We attended workshops that included swing dancing, mime and illusion, accents, improv, monologue preparation, playwriting and more! Congratulations Joel, Noah, Andrew, and Jack for qualifying for nationals!

Congratulations cast and crew on a hilarious production of Play On!. Thank you so much for all the laughs and hard work!
Thank you so much for attending Denver Academy’s production of Play On!. When I ask students why they enjoy theatre, I receive many different answers: they like the stories, they like to see what actors do when they mess up, and they think theatre is fun! Play On! highlights all those things. The joy of theatre comes from the playwright’s words, the director and actors’ interpretation, and the fun of working together to put on a show. And what a blast we had: we laughed at every rehearsal!
We are excited to share a behind the scenes look of the hilarious happenings during theatre rehearsals and performances. May you have just as much fun watching the show as we did putting it all together!
I am very grateful and want to express a very warm thank you to our community for your support of Denver Academy Theatre and theatre education. I thank the students for being part of the process of making theatre, and for your bravery and for your passion. It is a privilege to work with you. Congratulations, cast and crew, on a hilarious romp of a show!"
Another great year of Beowulf on the Rocks! Students from the Senior Honor Literature Class wrote their own Beowulf scripts, created prop lists, and performed their creations on the Red Rocks stage! We had a lot of fun and laughs as we delved into the world of Beowulf! Great job everyone. Very creative!
